Your February Self-Care Guide Is Here & It’s A Confidence Boost

self-care guide

Just like that, we’ve already swept up the magic of January. This year feels like it’s already moving quickly. But, I’m happy to say I’m really feeling the positive change in our collective vibration, just in the first month alone.

It’s like we’re all a bit more excited to be alive. Do you feel that too?

Hopefully, you saw some of your new beginnings actualize since January’s self-care guide. If not, there is still plenty of time to begin again and manifest your personal transformation.

I genuinely believe this year is all about taking that leap of faith in yourself and the universe, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. There have been plenty of times in the past, and even already this year, that I doubt myself.

It can be pretty easy for me to get in my head and lose balance with my purpose. I have gone through a lot of growth, but I acknowledge that I am not invincible. There have been and will be times my self-confidence might falter.

That’s why this month I’m focusing all on how to elevate your self-confidence, bring conviction into your routines, and authentic self-care ideas for a sense of true resilience. Hopefully, this will serve as a resource and help you believe in yourself when you need it most.

In these monthly guides, you can expect to find practices, products, and inspiration to guide you through the month and help you unearth your full potential.

Read through the guide with self-compassion, and don’t ever feel pressured to try everything. Take what you need, leave what you don't, and remember there is no wrong way to engage in self-care.

Self-Care For Your Mind

Listen to this meditation

Get your confidence back and elevate your perception of yourself through this ten-minute guided meditation. Often when I lack self-confidence, it’s because I’m allowing a million negative thoughts to flood my headspace. The great thing that meditation enables me to do is clear my mind, let go of those negative thoughts and then begin again.

I see self-confidence as believing that you are inherently good and deserving of goodness from the world. To gain more of that self-assuredness, I think it’s important to carve out time in your day to still your thoughts. The gift of quiet will help you see your true nature beneath all of the obtrusive doubts.

Remember This Quote

When you stop living your life based on what others think of you real life begins. At that moment, you will finally see the door of self-acceptance opened.
— Shannon L. Adler

What could be better for self-confidence than turning insecurity into a success story? I don’t feel ready to do this, but when do we ever feel ready? I believe there is no better time than the present to manifest our destiny because the present is all we have. ⁣

I choose to believe that my greatest insecurities will be what makes me. So, I defend the thought that now is the moment to reframe how you see your weakness and transform them into what will help you understand your best self.

Go ahead and admit what scares you and boldly accept it as a part of you. Then use that self-awareness and leverage it to create the change you wish to see.

Read Brené Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection

I am on a true Brené Brown kick after reading her other sensational book, “Dare to Lead,” so I’m super excited to include her in this month’s guide. This book, “The Gifts of Imperfection,” has sold over two million copies and helps us see that we are worthy of self-discovery, personal growth, and boundless love. Self-confidence may very well be only 160 pages away.

Brené has a sincere storytelling approach with tons of personal anecdotes and easy-to-follow advice. I’ve found that her books feel more like you’re talking to your friend who also happens to be a therapist in comparison to your typical self-help book. Plus, “Forbes” named it one of the "Five Books That Will Actually Change Your Outlook On Life."

Self-Care For Your Body

Try This Yoga Flow

Warrior two is a such a good pose to make you feel powerful and invigorated. It takes self-awareness, patience, and adjusting to position yourself correctly in this pose. Doing those things isn’t easy, but it helps you slow down to own your power versus expecting it to be automatic. That in-tune way of thinking helps me reframe situations in my daily life before I seemingly give up control. And like this gif, I suggest pairing warrior two pose with a peaceful warrior pose to balance power with humility and grace. So much of self-confidence is staying authentic, so it’s important to realign with what you’re grateful for to steady your soul.

Smell “Motivate” An Essential Oil Scent

I just bought this essential oil from doTERRA, and it tingles my senses with motivation. The oil is said to swap guilt and negativity for confidence and courage—which is precisely what we’re trying to do this month.

I got this oil as a roller blend so I could always have it in my bag for a dose of self-confidence behind my neck or on my wrists at a moment’s notice. I’m excited to have this scent by my side for upcoming presentations, and when I need a little extra pep in my step on a cold winter day.

If you want to find a similar scent that warms the soul with self-assurance, look out for one that includes some of these ingredients: Peppermint Plant, Clementine Peel, Coriander Seed, Basil Herb, Yuzu Peel, Melissa Leaf, Rosemary Leaf, and Vanilla Bean Absolute.

Self-Care For Your Spirit

Read your horoscope for February.

Take note of how the planets are aligning for you in February and how you can leverage those changes for your individual goals and self-care. Stay confident when you read your horoscope this month and avoid using it as a crutch or as an excuse.

Continue to have faith in what your future holds and know that you have a stake in changing it. Also remember that when self-confidence falters (and it can) the universe always has your back.

Claim This Affirmation

I am beautiful, I am brave, I am kind, and I am a total freaking badass.

I typically offer options for practicing affirmations such as writing them down or saying them silently to yourself...but to really instill self-confidence within yourself YOU. GOT. TO. OWN. IT!

So get prepared for this affirmation by standing in front of a mirror, get into a power pose and keep a gentle smile on your face. Then say this affirmation boldly while looking back at your reflection. It might feel silly at the beginning, but bear with me (I tried this too)!

So say it loud, say it proud, and maybe throw in a hair flip. This is the affirmation to purposefully exaggerate and allow the words you’re speaking to sink in. Say it multiple times, do a catwalk, and let loose until you see yourself for all you are. Change your outfit and do it over again, but make sure you have fun with it.

If you still need extra backup, here are affirmations to give you self-confidence before a date and before you head to work.

Leverage Carnelian For Passion & Confidence

Whenever I lead my workshops on spirituality, I’ll always introduce Carnelian as “the sexy stone.” That’s because this stone is associated with the sacral chakra and helps activate passion, confidence, and creativity. It’s an awesome stone to carry with you to remind you of your self-worth and raise your vibration. I suggest you carry this one in your pocket—especially for moments that make you nervous but require your “A game” like dates or networking events.

Self-confidence is tricky, but what if you truly dedicated yourself towards nurturing your soul until confidence became natural? It won’t be easy, but I trust it’ll be beautiful. You can be sure I will be spending the month of February trying my best to do the same.
