A list of 20 amazing positive affirmations to say before work…
“I am talented, ambitious, and making my dreams come true.”
I told myself this affirmation just this morning before leaving my apartment for work. I have a long mirror in my entryway, and every morning before heading to the office I say something positive to myself in the mirror. Sometimes, if I’m feeling spunky, I’ll throw in a power pose too.
I’ll be honest, when I first started trying it, it felt weird and uncomfortable. Over time, however, I started looking forward to the moment and felt a difference in my productivity at work.
You may be wondering, what is self-affirmation exactly? Self-affirmation is the action of telling yourself positive statements about yourself. Often times, the statements are related to a goal, a state of being, or a desirable outcome. They’re also meant to be repeated frequently and can be said out loud, thought, or written (depending on what you’re most comfortable with).
Self-affirmation has the power to help you counter negative self-talk and increase your confidence. It’s also scientifically proven to reduce anxiety, help under pressure, and increase performance.
I personally chose to start saying affirmations before work to boost my self-esteem, overcome imposter syndrome, and increase my efficiency in the office. Of course, there are plenty of other reasons for someone to practice self-affirmation… but there are more articles coming for those!
