It's Pisces Season & Rihanna’s Birthday Should Be A National Holiday

Queen Rih is the definition of a star. She has had success in the music and entertainment industries for the past decade, but the last few years have truly seen a cataclysmic explosion of all of her talents. Makeup, jewelry, shoes, clothes, music, movies, I am just waiting for her to come out with a memoir and a line of Bajan pepper sauce. Through it all, she has remained the beautiful and bold rockstar she has always been.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988, and since that fateful day, the global superstar has been nonstop. In the past few years alone, she has celebrated a Grammy-nominated album, the launch of a massively successful makeup line, wooed and then broke up with a literal billionaire, created a line of body-positive and wickedly comfortable lingerie, received Harvard University’s Humanitarian of the Year award, and SO much more.

Ms. Fenty is the perfect example of genuine Pisces energy. She embraces who she is, advocates for herself and her fellow women, and constantly rises above negativity. Pisces are known to go with the flow. They do not tend to push back too much and are extremely accepting of themselves and of others. Empathetic and intuitive, they are willing to see all of your flaws and raise you one more. That being said, a Pisces can still have a bit of a bite.

In order to celebrate Rihanna’s birthday and usher in Pisces season the right way, it’s only fitting that we take a look back at the Caribbean queen’s incredible year.

Hollywood’s ‘A’ List

Last summer saw massive successes at the box office, including the all-female backed reboot of “Ocean’s 8.” The film instantly shot to number one and proved to be the most successful of the popular franchise. Although she starred alongside Hollywood heavy hitters like Sandra Bullock, Mindy Kaling, Cate Blanchett, and Sarah Paulson, Rihanna completely held her own and nailed the role of “8 Ball” a swaggy, young Rastafarian hacker with a whip-smart attitude.

Whether laid back and casual:

The character’s confidence was likely a reflection of Rihanna’s own boss ass attitude.

On the horizon is the highly anticipated and mystery-shrouded “Guava Island,” a new film co-starring Donald Glover and “Black Panther” standout Letitia Wright. Although we know very little (the majority of details about the film were excavated from blurry posts on Instagram), “it almost goes without saying … Rihanna is poised to be the real star. She's already the most visible character, anyway, in the trailer, thanks to her bright patterns, long braids, and variety of headscarves.” - W Magazine

And needless to say, Rihanna living her best life on a Cuban beach is the content we all deserve.

Makeup For The Secret MUA In You

Although it’s Rihanna’s birthday, I think it’s fair to say that her Fenty Beauty makeup line feels like a gift to us all. If you’ve yet to try a product from the mega-successful line, there’s no better time than now seeing as there was a recent launch of 50 varying concealer shades, as well as new Lip Paints and the enchantingly iridescent Killawatt highlighters.

Whether you are a makeup guru-in-training or a bit of a hopeless newbie like myself, Fenty Beauty has products for you. The cruelty-free line is completely user-friendly high-end makeup, from primer to powder, at a very moderate price point. Many of the products are multipurpose and easy to use, meaning less clean-up and more chances of success. Also, they smell freaking incredible. On the off chance that you still need some extra assistance and prefer a step-by-step breakdown, our Pisces queen already has you covered.

YOU’RE WELCOME!

Sexy And Affordable Fashion For All

When it comes to beauty, Rihanna seems to be all about leveling the playing field; making sure the products she releases can work for all kinds of men and women. The SAVAGExFENTY lingerie launch is an idyllic example of this.

When the world was introduced to this new line in the spring of last year, we all knew it would look good on Queen Rih, but many of us were left wondering what it would look like on other body types. Fortunately, we did not have to wonder for long. The sheer lace, body-hugging one-pieces, tantalizing bralettes and even fuzzy handcuffs come in a vast array of sizes and colors meant to enhance every woman’s natural body shape.

As if a huge online launch was not enough, SAVAGExFENTY also debuted at New York Fashion Week, marking the young mogul’s fashion show debut. Models of all identities, sizes, and even Instagram showstopper Slick Woods who was nearly nine months pregnant at the time of the show graced the stage.

Since its original launch, there has been a steady stream of new SAVAGExFENTY pieces released, including a sexy Valentine’s Day collection. Whether dressing for yourself or to spice things up with a partner, some of the new pieces are sure to bring out your playful side.

Work Work Work Work Work Work

Although Rihanna has not released a full studio album since “Anti” in 2016, music is always on her mind; she rocked an epic performance at the 2018 Grammy awards alongside Bryson Tiller, DJ Khaled, and a slew of sexy dancers. The trio performed the summer bop of all bops, “Wild Thoughts” in an energy-packed performance that had everyone longing for a Caribbean bae-cation.

That being said, many of us are still clamoring for new tunes. In fact, Rihanna reacting to fans’ demands for new music has become my favorite brand of meme.

On the bright side, we’re all pretty positive that Rihanna will be dropping something new this year, but there have been no official updates as to when or in what capacity. Whenever it comes, however, it’s safe to say that my body will be R-E-A-D-Y.

At the end of the day, whether you’re a Rihanna-stan or not, she serves as an incredible inspiration to women looking to make the most of their lives. She is a living, breathing example of a young woman following her dreams and absolutely owning it. Whether you’re a Pisces or not, take this season to continue celebrating yourself and crushing the glass ceiling every step of the way.
